Con Brio is a creative consultancy which works with a wide range of clients to help make their ideas happen. We work alongside leaders and teams to facilitate planning, produce training programmes, build a ‘case for support’, explore new income streams and secure the resources needed to deliver projects with real impact.
Con Brio draws on the skills of a highly experienced team of associate artists and consultants with backgrounds in arts, education, charities and social enterprise.
Con Brio is led by director Tom Northey who has a background in arts education, charity management and social enterprise, having worked for a number of national arts organisations and charities. Tom has worked independently since 2008 with all types of artists, voluntary sector organisations and social enterprises.

Tom leads all Con Brio projects and liaises with clients to understand their needs and help them achieve their goals. He brings specialist expertise in fundraising and in music education in special needs settings.
Helen Mahoney is a freelance arts consultant and manager with a broad range of experience in delivering creative projects aross music education, participatory arts, cabaret and literature. She holds a Graduate Diploma from the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama in Arts Management.
Eddie Thomas has worked in the arts and cultural sectors for over 35 years. Throughout his career he has worked on a vast range of initiatives encompassing project management, fundraising, capital builds, business start ups, market research, training, organisational change and policy development. He works with Con Brio on a range of business planning and fundraising projects.
Ann works as a freelance administrator across a number of arts and charity clients. With a background in classical music and a MA in performance from the Royal Northern College of Music, Ann has a keen interest in music and music education, as well as experience of working with small arts/community venues. Ann works with Con Brio clients on fundraising research and presenting their work to funders and online audiences.
Con Brio is committed to professional development and sharing learning between organisations. We are also working to create a ‘sustainability’ policy, to ensure that we operate with impact in the present, without compromising the future.
