December 2015

Con Brio Go and See Award,
December 2015

In December 2015 Con Brio launched a competition for current music students to win £200 towards and international study trip.   Each applicant put forward a 50-word proposal, and then voted between themselves on the winner – a bit like ‘Come Dine with Me!’.

The winning student, Isobel Williams, will now receive £200 to undertake a trip to Vienna in the New Year.  Well done Isobel, and all the other fantastic applicants!  Manchester music students are clearly buzzing with ideas…

“I currently study saxophone at the Royal Northern College of Music and music at the University of Manchester.  As a new music fanatic I would love the chance to see the ‘PHACE’ ensemble live. Based in Vienna, they experiment with different sounds and feature new composers and artists such as saxophonist Lars Mlekush. I would love to hear the group and continue to use them as inspiration.”  Isobel Williams, Dec 2015.

Con Brio is committed to the development of next generation musicians in Manchester and beyond.  We are keen to provide students with opportunities to broaden their perspectives, build an international outlook and collaborate with others from different arts forms and genres.
